Ron Starr, president of Starr Electric Inc., began his electrical apprenticeship in 1966. Shortly after beginning his training he was drafted into the Armed Forces during the Vietnam conflict and he served 3 years in the U.S. Army as an electrical, electronic repairman until discharged in 1969. He then continued his apprenticeship in all phases of electrical wiring and installations. He pursued the service end of the trade and upon completing his apprenticeship in 1973 he was put on a service truck and he still performs that type of service today. After leaving employment with a local contractor in 1984 he began his own business as Starr Electric Inc. His specialty is service work to include: Small additions, machine wiring, feeders, service changes, power outages, repairs and troubleshooting. Starr Electric also performs repairs to electrical systems required by local authorities due to nonpermitted work performed by homeowners and unlicensed or untrained handymen.
